This means that we do not employ methods that are known to cause harm to our horses’ physical and mental wellbeing. We use a combination of positive reinforcement and classical dressage principles to train horses that are eager and willing to work. We believe in a slow and steady approach that builds a horse’s confidence and skills from a foundation of mutual trust and respect.
Our program works best for owners who want to be active participants in their horse’s training. We require a minimum of one lesson per week in either groundwork or riding for you and your horse to work together, depending on your comfort and experience level.
We specialize in helping owners feel comfortable and confident handling and riding their own horses - whether you’re dealing with behavior problems on the ground or under saddle, we can help you better understand your horse and find a path forward that works for you both.
Please note: it has been our experience that horses with severe behavioral problems are generally horses who are uncomfortable. We will solicit help as needed to ensure a horse has everything it needs physically and mentally before beginning training - that means veterinarians, farriers, saddle fitters, and other equine professionals depending on the situation.
If you do not own a horse, we also have limited availability for lessons on our school horses, with discounts available for paying monthly.
We also provide horse shopping assistance for people in search of their next equine partner - we have a 100% success rate of matching people with the right horse! Our trainer can help you through the entire process, from finding horses to try, to pre-purchase exams, to bringing the horse home.
